In 1983 just after the arrival of scholarships in women's sports the National
Collegiate Gymnastics Association was formed to be the governing body of women's
gymnastics at the Division III college level. Unique in it's design the NCGA
is organized and administered by the coaches, member schools, and athletes that
benefit from its programs.
