Most westerners usually wince when they the subject of yoga is brought up. All they see is complicated poses done by yoga practitioners. But there is easy yoga and the advanced level, so everyone who is interested can pick it up. Both easy and advanced yoga are formed thousands of years ago in India to assist practitioners achieve balance and harmony in their life. With a balanced and harmonious body, it is easy to be one with the universe. Yoga is never religious although it was passed down from traditional Hindu sacred document. Easy yoga poses can be obtained from classes, self-help books, self taught videos or DVDs but it is better to begin learning from a qualified yoga teacher. One major problem with arthritis is the fact that it tends to rob the individual of a certain sense of freedom and of control. It often occurs later in life when the individual is already beginning to see other negative changes in lifestyle and capabilities. Adding the nagging and/or excruciating and sometimes seemingly random pain of arthritis and lack of mobility can be almost devastating for many people. While treatments and medications do exist to decrease pain and perhaps restore some mobility, many people wonder it there isn't some other way. Perhaps there is a more natural way to at least decrease some of the pain and restore some of the mobility. In such hopes, some will turn to exercise, only to turn away when their pain seems to increase and the arthritis seems to prevent them from effectively participating in the activity anyway.

There are many different types of yoga and each has its own traits and benefits. By picking up the fundamental on each and every type of yoga, you can determine what is suitable for you. Hatha Yoga is one of the most widespread and it a divine practice that concentrates on the physical aspects to derive mental, emotional and physical health. It goes back to the fifteenth century and founded by Yogi Swatmarama, a wise teacher. Hatha yoga is called "hatha vidya" with "ha" means the sun and "tha" implies the moon and together they are the "nadis" or the flow of energy in the body and must work to achieve "dhyana" a feature of meditation. The full notion of the ancient hatha yoga is a divine path that encompasses moral and ethics, exercises, breathe control and meditation.

Yoga is a 6000-year-old form of exercise which not only disciplines the body but conditions the mind as well. While the various asanas or exercises are the basic building blocks of the practice of yoga, the breath is its very essence of it. Some go so far as to say, "If you can breathe, you can do yoga." One of the main reasons for this is that one of the main goals of yoga is to teach you to still and quiet your mind through the use of your breath. By practicing yoga on a regular basis, you get to know your breath intimately. Not only will you learn about proper breathing , which will soothe and relax you, but you will to bring your postures to life through the use of your breath.

'Yoga' in Sanskrit means 'to unite'. Now days it is being said that "yoga is the new mantra for fitness and health." It is an age old practice of meditation and helps in keeping the mind calm and peaceful. These days everybody is becoming health conscious. The concern of staying fit and healthy is fast spreading like wild fire among the older age group people of all age groups. Everybody is on the look out of remaining healthy, being active and self independent. Yoga is possibly the best option for them. All human beings undergo certain emotional waves like anxiety, stress, depression, ill-health and anger.

Pilates is a technique that was invented by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, almost seventy years ago to focus on improvement of strength and flexibility of the whole body. This exercise program is so popular that many celebrities, Hollywood stars and even legendary dancers have used it to perform to the best of their professional ability. Due to this, more and more people are interested to experience the benefits of Pilates which is basically a series of movements that are controlled in a manner to engage the body and mind of the exerciser.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is the style of yoga taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India, and originally established by Sri Krishnamacharya at the Mysore Palace. The asana sequences in Ashtanga Yoga' are largely based on Krishnamacharya's book Yoga Makaranda. It is an energetic, aerobic style and was originally intended for teenage boys, but is now practiced by students of all ages.

Ananda Marga, officially known as Ananda Marga Pracharaka Samgha (AMPS) meaning “the organization for the propagation of the path of bliss” was founded in Jamalpur, State of Bihar, India in 1955 by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (1921-1990), known by his spiritual name of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti. Ananda Marga bases its ideology on the theory that total human development can only be achieved through both personal development, and social service to the community.
