"Ivanovic fulfils grand slam destiny" and "Rafa the undisputed King of Roland Garros." These were headlines that could have been written before the tournament and so the 2008 French Open transpired. This year was probably as predictable as the French Open can be, with all the favourites reaching the semi's and the favourites winning the title. Allez Justine! On the girls side the shock retirement of Justine Henin threw the draw wide open. Justine's beautiful clay court game had dominated the French Open for many years her form and comments leading up to the French suggested something was amiss, but retirement just before her favourite tournament seemed unthinkable.

Undoubtedly soccer is the world's biggest game. Sure the World Cup, F.A Cup or UEFA cup may draw more interest but for all the teams competing in this year's Beijing Olympics there will be some very determined players who want to win that gold medal. The soccer games of the Beijing Olympic Games will be held from August 6-23, 2008 in five cities including the host city of Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Tianjin and Qinhuangdao.

Basketball at the 2008 Olympic Games will be held at Wukesong Indoor Stadium in Beijing from August 9-24, 2008. Basketball is definitely a global sport that has shown continued growth over recent years. The USA with the NBA and its college basketball system undoubtedly has the toughest competitions in the world that attracts the world's best players. However, the USA has not always dominated the Olympics and on several occasions they have been embarrassed by some unexpected defeats to lesser known teams.

If you are the cricket fan, you would be well aware about the latest and most popular Indian Premier League, also known as IPL T20. Concept of the Indian Premier League was just a answer to the Zee Entertainment's Indian Cricket League, headed by Former Captain of Indian Cricket Team [Kapil Dev]. The Concept of the Indian Premier League [Man behind the IPL T20: Mr Lalit Modi] was of its in the game called Cricket. After the success of Indian Cricket Team at the First Ever Twenty20 World Cup held in 2008, Twenty 20 was the most viewed format of the game.

This years French Open will once again begin on a Sunday. May 25th is the start date and the schedule should see some top early matches on the two show courts of Philippe Chatrier and Suzanne Lenglen courts. The question that most are asking is will Roger Federer be able to win the French Open or will he follow the same path as a former great in Sampras who was unable to win the French Open. The title of being the greatest of all time surely can only be given to a player who has excelled in all four majors. Like most, I believe that Federer probably has his best chance of winning the French Open over the next two to three years before the next generation of players lead by Djokovic come through.

Summer Olympics 2008, China. China will host the prestigious Summer Olympics in 2008. Already, Olympics fever has gripped China and we'll probaby see another exciting Olympics in 2008. The two cities that will host the Olympics in China are Beijing, which is the nations capital and Qingdao, a seaside city in the province of Shandong, in north-east China. Let's get to know these two Olympics cities better.

Beijing has a more serious problem. It is one of the more toxic and polluted cities in the world. This calls for a different recipe – using more natural gas in the ramp up time before the 2008 Olympics, which will be held about 13 months from now. Our sources had suggested coalbed methane gas might be used to light the Olympic flame. Boldly, we included a ‘fantasy’ photo of this in the introduction to our publication, “Investing in China’s Energy Crisis.” How close to the truth we came!

Further research pointed to a widespread substitution of coal for natural gas in Beijing over the course of the next year. Now it appears official. Earlier this week, China Petroleum Daily reported that state-owned China National Petroleum Corp is hoping to increase Beijing’s supply of natural gas by 5.5 billion cubic meters by next year.

Beijing, located in northern China, is the second largest city in China, next to Shanghai, and the capital of the People's Republic of China. Beijing is a major hub for transportation, which makes it even more important in the overall economics of the country. It is also the point to which many international flights arrive and depart. Beijing is considered the political, cultural, and educational centre of China. Beijing, as one of the four great ancient capitals of China, will have an important place in history again when it hosts the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. Getting To Beijing 2008 ......

Red Sox Nation is waiting in anticipation for the 2008 MLB season with the hopes of seeing back to back championships, and their prospects look great. No one knows what the season holds, but we can consider a few important things that give the Red Sox an excellent chance of going to the post season again at the very least. After all, the off season was busy, especially with the entire steroids controversy heating up after the Mitchell report was issued. The good news is that during the off-season, the Red Sox managed to keep most of the 2007's World Series winning team intact. Their pitching rotation, and their infield and outfield are basically the same. Knuckleballer Tim Wakefield is back, and Doug Mirabelli, the Sox backup pitcher, finalized a one year deal to stick around. Big bats Ramirez and Ortiz will be back too. One of the biggest things that stops any team from making it to the playoffs - whether its baseball, football, basketball, etc. - is the loss of players that helped hold the team together.

The Australian Open summer tennis series is upon us once again. For most players the Australian Tennis Open is one of the toughest tournaments of the year due to several factors. First of all many players use the last month of the year to take a break from the tour and their hectic travel schedules. As a result many players struggle physically to cope after this extensive layoff. To add to the drama most players are coming out of the cold winter conditions of Europe and the USA and straight into extremely hot weather conditions of the Aussie Open
