People today are driven beyond their limits trying to keep up with everyday living. They worry about family, jobs, money, paying the mortgage, and providing a good life for their family. At the end of the day, they are drained, tired, and exhausted.
Dr. Jerry Teplitz, a doctor of holistic health sciences says, "If you're in a job, if you're a homemaker, if you're taking care of kids or whatever you're doing that disaster day, the last four hours are not productive. You're not effective communicating, you're not fun to be around even around yourself versus on that energized day. When all that switches, you can get more done, your stress level is lower, you're more effective in communicating and you're more fun to be around."
Dr. Teplitz was a college student in the '60's and got peer pressured into trying yoga, meditation and new nutrition ideas. He was skeptical, didn't care about it, and was even a little scared of these new ideas.

Conflict resolution is such an important issue that organizations exist, whose sole function is to provide training in conflict resolution. Conflict resolution is about teaching people new ways to work through and resolve disputes that don't involve violence, and is an immediate priority for many organizations today. Conflict resolution is being used with increasing frequency to supplement, and in some cases, supplant traditional decision-making processes at all levels of government. Conflict resolution is tricky because from the very beginning it takes setting aside the ego and listening to the other party, which does not usually come naturally to most of us.

Recently, I've been using a famous quote by Calvin Coolidge as my mantra to get me going and get things done. Specifically, getting a product together; getting it up on a website; and getting it promoted. "Dr. Fiore," the voice on the phone pleaded, "I need anger management classes right away.I blew up at my girlfriend last night and she said it's over until I get help." As Kevin recounted the first night of anger management class, he and his girlfriend had argued in the car over which route to take home from a party. Events progressed from mild irritation, to yelling and name calling. Things escalated at home. He tried to escape, but she followed him from room to room,demanding resolution of the conflict. He became angry, defensive and intimidating. Frightened, she left.

Yoga is a 6000-year-old form of exercise which not only disciplines the body but conditions the mind as well. Everyone has heard of road rage incidents wherein usually calm and responsible people "snap" and commit an aggressive or violent act. Turns out, that "losing one's temper" can occur in many different life situations and cause serious emotional or physical harm to others. It is a pattern in which tension builds until an explosion brings relief, followed later by regret, embarrassment, or guilt. Called "Intermittent Explosive Disorder"(IED),it is defined by attacks of impulsive rage that seem out of proportion to the immediate provocation and has serious consequences such as verbal abuse, threats, property damage, assaults, and injury.

Suppose you are standing in the "express" lane of a supermarket checkout. You see that the third person ahead of you has about 25 items and is paying by check when the signage clearly restricts this isle to 10 items and cash-paying customers. You, on the other hand, are standing there with a dollar in your hand to purchase a package of chewing gum. The cashier is doing nothing to manage the situation and, in fact, is having a friendly chat with him about his life while she is ringing up his items. If you are like most people, you will probably experience angry feelings. Then what should you do? How should you respond?
