College can be some of the “best” years of your life but only if you are ready for it! Now these “Best Years” have to be in context with everything else that one experiences in life. However, the point here is that your years in college can provide you with many great experiences, allow you to make friends for life, often meet your partner for life, enjoy the freedom associated with being away from home, the social and sporting cultures, and combining your studies with the every day pressures of college life. At the end of it all, you will often look back at college with fond memories.

How an athlete performs at a football combine can be critical in their football career. Football combines consist of the following tests: 40 yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, bench press, pro agility shuttle, three cone agility, and 60 yard shuttle. The better the athlete can perform in each of these 7 tests the better their chances of playing football at the next level whether that is high school to college, or college to the NFL. Football combine performance enhancement is twofold. The athlete needs to train to enhance their raw strength, speed, agility power and flexibility. The athlete also needs to master the proper technique for each test, ensuring that the test is performed in the most efficient manner. This will lead to a knockout football combine performance.

This article is an in-depth guide to improving your abilities as a football player. You are going to learn how to increase your speed, acceleration, agility, balance, and the most important, strength. There are three ways in which to practice increasing your speed: Improving running mechanics, improving technique, and strengthening your legs. Most players don't have great running mechanics and if they would just improve their technique, they would run a lot faster. Leg strength is important because the more force applied to the ground, the faster you will run. You simply cannot reach your full speed potential by just running sprints. A number of elements must coincide with each other if you want to reach your maximum speed potential.

Every Division 1 College Football team receives eighty five football scholarships per year to work with. With 85 scholarships available to a NCAA football team, it’s easy to imagine the team being made almost completely up of guys who are getting a free and easy ride through school. That is obviously not the case. It is increasingly more difficult to get and retain your football scholarship through all four years of college. Understand that the 85 is split among four to five classes when you consider redshirts and that is total. Not 85 per year. So you have essentially 20 to 25 scholarships per year to work with. Now the coaches look at the potential depth chart for each position and have to weight the potential for landing that big recruit who has to receive a full ride. It is much like balancing your check book at the end of the month. X amount here Y amount here and so on…Or is it?

Often football games come down to the bitter end. It’s not uncommon for a game to be decided in the last few minutes and often the game comes down to a field goal. A made or a missed field anytime during a game could decide the outcome of that game. However, a made or a missed field goal near the end of the game will almost certainly mean the difference between losing and winning. Making field goals is very important to every team. So, football kicking drills that help a kicker improve are equally important. No Step Kicking - Proper body position and technique are critical in kicking the ball for distance. In order to build-up strength and develop proper form, all kickers should perform No Step Kicking as one of their football kicking drills.

Offensive formations - Before the ball is snapped the offensive team lines up in a formation. Most teams have a “base” formation they prefer to line up in, while other teams leave the defense guessing. Teams will often have “special formations” which they only use in obvious passing situations, short yardage or goaline situations, or formations they have developed for that particular game just to confuse the defense. Because there are a nearly unlimited number of possible formations, only a few of the more common ones are listed below. Pro Set - The Pro Set is a traditional formation commonly, a “base” set used by professional and amateur teams.
It's Time For College Football Again

Today is an exciting day for college football fans. If you’re like me, you can’t get enough of the pre-season hype from ESPN and other media as the professional analysts attempt to be prophetic about the outcome of the season. I had to laugh recently when I watched Lou Holtz and others attempting to make a prediction about who would win the national championship game between USC and LSU, as if the game between the two teams was already scheduled. The national championship game is four months away. With a full season of football ahead of us, anything can happen. The outcome of the college football season is a permutation that includes so many unmeasureable and unpredictable factors, such as a team’s motivation for any particular game, injuries, clutch coaching decisions, referee calls, and so much more.
