While the old adage 'No Pain, no gain' holds true when it comes to exercising especially while getting used to a new fitness regime, one should not ignore constant warning signs of pain. It is normal to feel a little discomfort while exercising but it shouldn't leave you in severe pain.As muscles get actively used lactic acid,micro-tears and other physiological changes are bound to occur which indicate that fat is being burnt to form muscles. But if one is experiencing continuous knee or joint soreness, back pain or neck aches it is always advisable to consult a physician.

In the olden days it was believed that exercise was strictly for the younger generation. In fact most people were convinced that older people couldn't increase their muscle mass or strength however hard they tried. Today, these myths have been shattered by detailed research studies conducted at Harvard and elsewhere.
Studies have revealed that exercise for people in the 50 plus age group is decidedly healthy. As one grows older metabolism slows down that often leads to fat accumulation if one isn't fit and healthy.

Studies have proved time and again that a proper diet and age appropriate exercise is the right way to losing weight and maintaining a fit and healthy body.
Unfortunately for some people who lack positive will power or because of their genetic predisposition continue to suffer from obesity in spite of every effort to lose weight, other methods are sometimes required to help them reduce weight.
Fad diets as we all know are temporary and most don't even work as expected leave alone produce long term effective results.
